Pastor Hugh Lackey has served Lake Mary, as a Commissioned Lay Pastor, since August 2006. He began his journey into ministry while continuing a thirty year career in jewelry manufacturing. He attended Gordon Conway Theological Seminary and Dubuque Theological Seminary. Pastor Hugh brings more than 35 years of service as an Elder, to his pastorate, serving the First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell, NJ; Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, in Warwick, RI; and Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration, FL. The Calling His journey to ministry began as a young boy, but was derailed in college. While on a business trip to Thailand in April 2001, God told Pastor Hugh to get to work and begin preparing for ministry.

Six weeks later he was studying Old Testament, and a new calling began. In 2006, with the counsel of supporters in the church, Pastor Hugh stopped his pursuit of masters of Divinity degree to dedicate his life to serving God as a Lay Pastor.

In 2015, Pastor Hugh and his incredibly faithful and supportive wife, Beth, celebrated 47 years of marriage. Beth and Hugh have two daughters and one great son-in-law. Karen and Brian live in Virginia where they teach; Karen emotionally and mentally challenged children and Brian High School French and Spanish. Kristen lives in Central Florida, where she works in management at Walt Disney World. They also have a beautiful granddaughter, Fayth Marie, the light of all their lives.
